Greeting |
P: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love
of God and the Communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. |
C: And also with you. |
P: Let us pray. Eternal God, our Creator and Redeemer, You brought great joy to
the wedding in Cana long ago by the presence of Your Son Jesus. We ask that You
bring joy to this wedding today. We pray that Jesus will be here to bless
Angelique and Brent and that they will rejoice in all Your gifts as they begin
their new life together. |
C: Amen. |

(Please stand

P: The holy gospel according to Matthew, the 7th
chapter, beginning at the 24th verse. |
C: Glory to
You, O Lord! |
“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law. |
P: This is the
gospel of our Lord. |
C: Praise to You, O Christ! |

Marriage
Litany
P:
The Lord, out of all goodness, created us male and female and gave us
the gift of marriage. In the community found in marriage we can find great joy,
but because of sin, the joy of marriage can often be overcast and the gift of
family become a burden. But God continues to bless the marriage relationship
with abundant and ever-present support so we can be sustained in our weariness
and have our joy restored. |
Angelique and
Brent, if it is your intention to share with each other your joys and sorrows
and all that the years will bring, with your promises, bind yourselves to each
other as husband and wife, and ask God to give you the strength to keep your
commitments to one another. |

The Lord’s
Prayer |
P: Lord, remember us in your kingdom and teach
us to pray. |
C: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. |

Marriage
Blessing |
P: May our God establish you and sustain you in
your marriage , so that, you may find delight in each other and grow in holy
love until your life’s end. May Christ be the solid foundation in your marriage
so that together you will be able to stand through the storms of life that will
come your way. This we pray in the name
of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. |
C: Amen. |
