25. Owen Keith Stephens was born on Mar 27 1912 in Tremont, Tazewelu County, Illinois. Oldest son and 2nd child of Thaddeus and Abigail Stephens. He was educated in 1940 in Illinois and Wisconsin. Owen attended the University of Wisconsin for further studies and also had at least 3 degrees from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He received his Masters in Hospital Administration in 1961 from Northwestern University. "Owen was a very smart guy!" He may have at least several degrees, claims Owen's sister-in-law, Jeanne Stephens. One of his first would have been from Aurora College because Owen initially attended the same college as his father Thaddeus Stephens. He was a in 1950 in Illinois. Owen was the Superintendent of Schools for Cherry Valley near Rockford, IL. He also worked for the Governor of the State of Illinois, Adlai Stevenson. Owen administered and ran the Welfare Department for the State of Illinois. He also was an administrator for Cook County Hospital, a very large hospital in Chicago, IL. In addition, Owen was a superintendent of two mental hospitals, one in Dixon, IL and the other in Elgin, IL. He was in Jan 1979 in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas. Owen converted to Catholicism and had restated his marriage vows to his wife Harriett in a Catholic church. He died on Jun 26 1983 in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas. He was buried on Jun 29 1983 in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas. Owen is buried in a military cemetary according to Sue Stephens, Owen's daughter. Owen was previously married to a woman named Dorothy. They had a baby that died and then they were divorced.

He was married to Harriet Mary Hyzer on Dec 28 1943. Owen met Harriett while she was teaching school in Wisconsin. Harriet Mary Hyzer was born on Apr 20 in Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois. She was educated in 1942 in Madison, Wisconsin. According to her daughter Sue Stephens, Harriet attended Rockford College in Rockford, Illinois and her degree in education was obtained at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois. She also did further work on her education at the University of Wisconsin around 1942. Harriet received her Masters in Education in 1961 from Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago, Illinois. She was Catholic in 1990 in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas. Harriet was Catholic according to her daughter, Sue Stephens. She died on Nov 17 1990 in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas. She was buried on Nov 19 1990 in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas. Owen Keith Stephens and Harriet Mary Hyzer had the following children:

35 i. Mary Suzanne Stephens was born on Dec 19 1944 in Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois. As told by Mary Suzanne Stephens. She was educated in 1964 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Sue has attended Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois, majoring in English and Psychology. She has also attended The Loop Jr. College, Wright Jr. College, and she received an Associates Degree. She has been currently studying Anthropolgy for her Bachelors degree at Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago, Illinois. She was a in 1995 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Sue's occupation is sales and/or secretarial.
36 ii. Patricia Lenore Stephens was born on Oct 5 1949 in Maywood, Cook County, Illinois.
37 iii. Owen Keith Stephens II was born on Sep 7 1951 in Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois. He was educated in 1980 in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas. Owen has attended Boston University, School of Art, Boston, Massachusetts and he received a Degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Texas El Paso. He has also another Degree in Computer Programming. He was a in 1995 in Jacksonville, Duvall County, Florida. Owen is a Computer Analyst working for a bank. Owen Keith Jr. was nicknamed K.O., the inverse of his father O.K. He has recently (1995) been living in Jacksonville, Florida.
