17. Charles E. Stephens was born on Jul 5 1879 in Benton County, Arkansas. Charles is listed in a Family Group Record, prepared by Patricia Hudson Stephens, Westminster, Colorado. He died about 1925 in South Bend, Indiana. According to Grace Stephens Marquis, she remembers that Charles died of a heart attack about 1925. According to Patricia Hudson Stephens, Charles lived in Illinois. During research involving Charles' brother Thaddeus at Aurora College, a record involving Charles was found. It is recorded in a Building Fund receipt book for Aurora College that Charles E. Stephens was a donator in September of 1910 and in July of 1911. His address at that time was at the Rock Island Arsenal in Rock Island, Illinois. The Rock Island Arsenal is an island in the middle of the Mississippi River and is an historic federal government military installation.
