68. Dean Marquis Huffstutler was born on Mar 29 1922 in Hamilton County, Illinois. Dean was born on a Wednesday. He was baptized in 1933 in Hamilton County, Illinois. Dean was saved at Mt. Olivet Church and was baptized in a farmer's pond as told by Helen Huffstutler Ferreira. He was educated in 1941 in Elgin, Kane County, Illinois. Dean graduated from Elgin High School, class of 41. He also took some courses at N.Y. City College while in the Army. He served in the military in 1944 in Belgium. Dean served in the armed forces during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received January 9, 1945 at the historic Battle of the Bulge in Belgium. At that point in time, he was a Tech. Sgt. in the Infantry. He was flown to England to recuperate and then returned to the states.

He was Baptist and a member of Grace Evangelical Church in 1996 in Elgin, Kane County, Illinois. Dean worked from before high school graduation (1940) until retirement at Illinois Tool Works.

He was married to Ernestine Olga Spencer in 1943 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. Dean and Enestine were married at the Tremont Temple Baptist Church.

Ernestine Olga Spencer was born on Jun 27 1921. Ernestine was born on a Monday. She was in 1973 in Elgin, Kane County, Illinois. Ernestine was a member of Elgin Bible Church. She died on May 8 1973 in Elgin, Kane County, Illinois. Ernestine died of Leukemia and other cancers according to a Family Group Record completed by Helen Huffstutler Ferreira. Her published newspaper obituary states the following:

"Mrs. Dean M. (Ernestine O.) Huffstutler, 51, of 823 Hastings St., Elgin, died Tuesday in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born in Elgin June 27, 1921, the daughter of William L. and Olga Payne Spencer, and lived in Elgin all of her life. She was a former employee of the Elgin National Watch Company, Elgin. She held membership in the Elgin Bible Church, and 20 year membership in the Ladies Trio of the church.

Besides the widower, Dean M. Huffstutler, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. James (Kathleen) Layne of Elgin, Rebecca Lynn, and Colleen Ellen, both at home; one. son, Dale R. Huffstutler of Elgin: three grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Wilbur (Eleanor) Vanderford of Waukegan, and Mrs . Phillip (Genevieve) Hoagland of Carpentersville; one brother, Robert Spencer of Elgin; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William L. Spencer of Elgin. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. John (Lois) Radtke in 1965; also, an infant daughter, Janine Carol.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Elgin gin Bible Church, the Rev. Robert G. Dice, pastor of the Elgin Bible Church, Elgin, officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery. Elgin. Friends may call after 4 p . m . Wednesday in the Stout Funeral Home, Elgin."
She was buried on May 10 1973 in Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin, Kane County, Illinois. Ernestine is the daughter of William Spencer and Olga Payne Spencer according to a Family Group Record completed by Helen Huffstutler Ferreira. Dean Marquis Huffstutler and Ernestine Olga Spencer had the following children:
